About me

I’m 31 years old and live and work in the south of England. I work for myself which without doubt is the best decision I have ever made. When recently asked by a mechanic what I did, I gave a brief explanation, which he then translated into “So you fuck about with computers.” That seems to fit quite well. In reality I spend my life in front of a laptop and a reasonable measure of how stressed I am can be measured by how hard I type on the keyboard or the shortness of my emails.

In my spare time I own and run a sports car racing team which keeps me very busy throughout the summer, walk my dog, watch the odd TV show and generally spend far too long on the Internet.

The endurance cars we have been watching are prototypes and GT cars, the cars we have been racing have been Porsche 968s. Welcome by the way :)

Oh yes. You are most definitely in the ‘man talk’ club.

I made the mistake of telling a locksmith what I do. His reply?

“I fucking hate people like you.”

Nice. I did try to tell him I’m not responsible for Windows Vista but I don’t think he was listening.

You know, my new PC came with Vista Ultimate and so far I’ve resisted the temptation to reinstall XP Pro!

One of the techspeak podcasts I listen to said that 30% of Vista-preinstalled laptops/pc’s were being XPd. I could be philosophical and say that progress isn’t always about moving forwards… but that wouldn’t be quite right in the IT industry, would it? :)

Loving the manspeak, btw!
