Since just after Christmas I have been on a health kick, nothing too serious but a conscious decision to eat less rubbish and to exercise just a little more. I felt that after Christmas I was just carrying a little bit too much weight and I could certainly see that I was more rotund than usual.
So, fast forward to the end of March and I am approaching almost two stones of weight loss. Now I haven’t been on any silly diet plans, I have merely cut out things such as chocolate, crisps, very fatty foods etc. I have cut down my portion sizes to something less akin to a giants feast, cooked using lots of fresh vegetables and snacked on fruit when peckish. As an occasional treat I’ve had a takeaway, or something else equally bad for me.
I feel fantastic. I have more energy than I did previously, I am sleeping better and I am noticeably less tired than I’ve ever previously felt.
However the major drawback is that my clothes do not fit anymore. My work shirts and suits hang off me when I wear them and my jeans are a touch too baggy. Still, it is a (not so) small price to pay. Another 1/2 stone or so to go and then I can go shopping for some new clothes.
Good job you! But shopping a drawback? You are truly a man!
You’ll have to treat me to a drink to show off your svelte new look!
Nice one, well done. I’ve started doing the same the last few weeks and noticing the difference already – finding myself with loads more energy. I’ve also become addicted to kiwi fruit!
I am in same situation – down 15kg (about 2.3 stone) since early December.
I’ve found some old clothes that I couldn’t squeeze into before that now fit quite well, but my main work clothes just sag.
I too was thinking: another 2kg (to get down to double figures) and I’ll go shopping for new clothes, but I’m struggling in the 101-102kg bracket – I just can’t seem to go lower.
Still, well done you! Just goes to show that fancy dieting for the overweight is pointless – you just eat a bit less, cut out junk and do a bit more exercise
I’m in awe. I wish I could shift this little paunch that has developed since I started comfort eating last summer. No matter how hard I work at it, it refuses to diminish. So you are a guy to look up to.
What soup said
So no more maple syrup pancakes then?
woweeee! I’m very jealous, you make it sound so easy!
Good job! I am starting my own health kick…well trying to at least. Keep it up!!
WOW! Well done you! And speaking of food, do you want to grab a bite to eat soon?
Thanks all. This week I have gone down another notch on my belt, having had a couple of weeks of no loss but also no gain.
I’ve also really enjoyed experimenting with my healthy cooking, although the king prawn curry that I concocted did need about five beers to quench the hotness!
It’s a good problem to have. I remember losing over 2 stone last year. It was nice not to have to worry about tight clothes, but keeping the lose ones from fall off was another matter.
Congrats!
