I have lost one of my racing boots. I cannot find it anywhere and I have looked absolutely everywhere. I am slowly coming round to the fact that I might have inadvertently left it at the Nurburgring the last time I was over there earlier in the year.
Ordinarily this wouldn’t be a huge problem, but time is a factor as I need my boots for the Friday fun this week.
Mail order is out, because firstly they won’t get to me in time and secondly I need to try any new boots on and see if they are comfortable or not. So, instead I am going to have to go to a shop and buy some tomorrow. Ordinarily I’d nip up to Silverstone to GPR Direct, but tomorrow Silverstone will be very busy prior to the Grand Prix weekend, so I either have to go to their other shop in London or to Castle Coombe and chance my arm with a supplier I’ve never used before and whose stock levels I have no idea about.
Add to this that I have a huge amount of work to do tomorrow and a parcel arriving that I need to sign for whose contents I’d like to use on Friday. At this rate I’ll be driving barefoot on Friday.
Perhaps it’s done a runner with my missing sock.
Boo!
I lost a shoe once. I never found it. One shoe is very useless
Well Pinkus if you lost a right shoe, then I have a left boot that wants to be its friend.
Oh dear – how important are ‘racing boots’?
Well aside from the ‘coolness’ factor
, they have very thin rubber soles, which makes it much easier to feel the pedals of the car and control your inputs easier.
oh – you can borrow my stilletos? no? don’t say I didn’t offer.
If only you’d offered last week!
