Surgical spirit

17 04 2008

I have learnt a valuable lesson over the past 72 hours, namely if you should find an unexpected lump or bump upon your body, then you should not ignore it and hope that it goes away of its own accord. Rather you should instead seek medical help at the earliest opportunity and get it sorted out.

As a result of being somewhat ostrich like, and not doing anything about what at the time was probably nothing too serious, I have just had unplanned surgery to Perpetual Junior. I find myself just home from St Georges Hospital in south London, wondering why I was so stupid in the first place.

Currently I am sporting eleven stitches in a place that no man ever wishes to have stitches, it is very painful to walk and the quickest speed I can manage is about half a mile per hour. I need to take it easy for a couple of weeks until the stitches come out and the bruising & swelling dissipates. Right now it looks like someone has viciously attacked my genitals with a bat of some kind. Worst of all is the fact that my throat is really, really sore from where I had a tube to keep me breathing properly during the operation.

On the plus side, I’ll not only have a good scar, but whilst legally high last night I SMS’d my business partner and professed my undying love for him and all that he does. Thankfully he took it the right way when we spoke earlier today.

Bloooooody hell. Is everything ok…err..down there, aside from the pain and swelling I mean?

Hope all is considerably better soon…and very true about getting checked out as soon as you realise something’s not right.

Being a pro when it comes to procedures involving the little man I can only sympathise. Thankfully the stuff I go through doesn’t result in external bruising or swelling and they don’t need to cut anything so I think I get off lightly. Hope you get better soon, in the mean time, my legs are crossed in sympthy.

Jo It is still there, that’s the main thing I guess and yes, one should not be embarrassed about getting things checked out.

Luckily Cat that was just an isolated incident of dog excitement. Fingers crossed that soon is 8 weeks or so ;)

Thank you Breeza and Hooli.

Yes Pinkus, although fingers crossed there won’t be a next time. It is fair to say I have learnt my lesson this time.

Cheers Dom.

TT & Soupy The doctor thought, and was right, that it was just a small benign lump, but being where it was he also thought it was best to ‘whip it off’. It sounds so simple when they say it like that!

Yes I am LYG, mucho rest going on here.
